The Foundation Year is designed to prepare students for the BSc Hons Criminology degree and is equivalent to one year of full-time study. Applicants to the Foundation Year must have at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English language and mathematics. The Foundation Year consists of two modules: Criminology and Academic Skills. The Criminology module introduces students to the key concepts and theories of criminology, while the Academic Skills module develops students' critical thinking and writing skills. On successful completion of the Foundation Year, students will be able to progress to the second year of the BSc Hons Criminology degree.
