Application Requirements

To be admitted to the Master of Arts in Spanish program, students must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in Spanish or a related field. Applicants must also have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In addition, students must submit a statement of purpose, a resume, and two letters of recommendation. The statement of purpose should explain why the student is interested in the program and what they hope to achieve after graduation. The resume should list the student's academic and professional experience. The letters of recommendation should be from professors or other professionals who can attest to the student's academic ability and potential for success in the program. Applicants who are not native speakers of Spanish must also submit a score of 550 or higher on the Test of Spanish as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or an equivalent score on another standardized test of Spanish proficiency. The program also requires students to take a placement test in Spanish to determine their level of proficiency. Students who do not score at the intermediate level or higher must take additional Spanish courses before they can begin their coursework in the Master of Arts in Spanish program.
