Application Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Master of Arts in History program, applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must also have completed at least 12 credits of history courses at the upper-division level. In addition, applicants must submit a statement of purpose, a resume, and three letters of recommendation. The statement of purpose should explain why the applicant is interested in the program and what they hope to achieve with their degree. The resume should list the applicant's academic and professional experience. The letters of recommendation should be from professors or other professionals who can attest to the applicant's academic ability and potential for success in the program. Applicants who are admitted to the program will be required to take a comprehensive exam in their area of specialization. The exam will be administered in the fall semester of the first year of the program. Applicants who do not pass the exam will be required to retake it in the spring semester. Students who pass the exam will be admitted to the second year of the program.
