Application Requirements

To be admitted to the Master of Arts in History program, students must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must also submit a statement of purpose, a resume, and three letters of recommendation. The statement of purpose should explain why the student is interested in the program and what they hope to achieve after graduation. The resume should list the student's academic and professional experience. The letters of recommendation should be from professors or other professionals who can attest to the student's academic ability and potential for success in the program. In addition to the application materials, students must also take the GRE General Test and the History Subject Test. The GRE General Test is a standardized test that measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing skills. Students who are admitted to the program will be required to take a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework, including 12 hours in history, 9 hours in social science, and 6 hours in humanities.
