FAQs

  • You cannot work while you are a student at NYFA. You must have the funds to support yourself for the duration of your studies. We do not offer on-campus employment. If you complete a conservatory or degree program, you will be eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). Please see the next question regarding OPT.

  • NYFA offers 1,3,4,6,8, and 12 week and weekend workshops, as well as teen and youth summer camps and after school programs of varying lengths. In addition to our workshops, we also offer one and two-year non-degree conservatory programs. To learn more, visit NYFA’s areas of study page, as well as NYFA’s summer camps page.

  • While there is no age restriction, a high school diploma or the equivalent is required for the Academy’s adult programs (and Bachelor’s Degree for MFA programs). NYFA also offers summer camps and weekend workshops for teens (14-17), and kids (10-13 years old).

  • Once you submit all of your admissions requirements, you will be notified with the admissions results within 2-3 weeks.
