Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education in ESOL program, applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must also have a strong background in English language teaching and a commitment to working with English language learners. The program requires a minimum of 36 credits, which can be completed in two years of full-time study or four years of part-time study. Students must take a core curriculum of courses in ESOL methods, assessment, and research, as well as elective courses in their area of interest. The program also requires a practicum experience in an ESOL setting. Applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA requirement may be admitted to the program on a conditional basis, subject to meeting the GPA requirement by the end of the first year of study.
