The Warren V. Musser Fellowship in Entrepreneurial Studies was created to help support full-time and half-time graduate students who enroll in a Penn State Great Valley on-campus program. The fellowship is designed for entrepreneurs who wish to increase their business knowledge and skills, and individuals who are passionate about starting their own business, leading a start-up company, or taking a leadership position in a rapidly growing new or emerging firm.
New Students
A Musser Fellowship of $25,000 is available for full-time students beginning a Great Valley master’s degree. The award will be applied to tuition and fees for the fall and spring semesters; any unused portion will be provided to the recipient as a refund. Students who receive the award can re-apply in future academic years. Deadline to apply: June 1.
Continuing Students
Each academic year, up to 10 full- and half-time students who have completed at least 12 credits by the end of the spring semester may be awarded a Musser Fellowship in the form of a merit-based scholarship of $5,000 each. A maximum of 10 awards are available. Deadline to apply: May 15.
The Chancellor’s Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for individuals who are planning to pursue a graduate program full-time at Penn State Great Valley beginning in the fall semester. If awarded, students must take 12 credits per semester for the first academic year. Scholarship awards are competitive in the amount of $10,000 or $15,000 and will be applied toward tuition and fees for the academic year. International applicants are required to submit either GMAT or GRE test scores for scholarship consideration.
Merit-based scholarships: All students who have completed 15 or more credits in their major will be considered by a faculty scholarship committee for one of four merit awards. Merit scholarships are awarded in the summer for the following academic year. There is no application
FAQs
An undergraduate degree in finance is not required; we examine a candidate’s quantitative skills when making an admission decision. In addition, our curriculum will prepare those candidates without any finance background with necessary foundational knowledge. Please refer to the Master of Finance plan of study for details.
Yes, this program is STEM designated, allowing 36 months total of Optional Practical Training (OPT) compared to 12 months for non-STEM degrees.
Our program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, a standing earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. In addition, Penn State Great Valley has a chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society established in 1913. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student can receive in an undergraduate or graduate program at an AACSB-accredited institution.
Students can pursue the degree part-time, completing in as little as two and a half years at their own pace, or enroll full-time and complete the program within 15-18 months.
The program is 33 credits/11 courses. View the plan of study here or schedule a meeting with a program representative for more information.
