To be eligible for admission to the College of Arts and Sciences, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the following minimum requirements: a composite score of 26 on the ACT or 1100 on the SAT, a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and 4 years of English, 3 years of Math, 2 years of Science, and 2 years of Social Studies. Applicants are also encouraged to have taken AP or IB courses in their high school career. In addition to these requirements, applicants to the African American Studies program must submit a personal statement and a writing sample that demonstrates their interest in the field of African American Studies. The personal statement should be no more than 500 words and should discuss the applicant's reasons for wanting to study African American Studies and their goals for the future. The writing sample should be no more than 2 pages and should be a sample of the applicant's academic writing. All application materials must be submitted by the application deadline.
