Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program, students must have completed the following high school courses: English 12, Mathematics 11, and two of the following: Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Physics 12, or Social Studies 12. Students must also have a minimum overall average of 70% in their high school courses. In addition, students must submit a personal statement and a letter of reference from a teacher or guidance counsellor. The personal statement should discuss the student's interest in psychology and their reasons for wanting to study the subject at St. Francis Xavier University. The letter of reference should provide an overview of the student's academic performance and character. Students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents must also submit proof of their English language proficiency. This can be done by taking and passing the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
