We seek to build a student cohort that represents intellectual, demographic, and cultural diversity across clinical, non-clinical, and technical backgrounds. We are proud of our holistic admissions process that evaluates students based on their professional experience, academic abilities, career aspirations, and personal values. Applicants are expected to have graduated from an accredited undergraduate degree program or an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree from a college or university of recognized standing. They must demonstrate their capability to manage the intensity and rigor of the MCiM program and to leverage it to advance their career.

At the intersection of medicine, business, and technology, MCiM offers a unique opportunity to cultivate team- and relationship-building in a diverse learning environment. We thereby aim to develop a cadre of professionals in health care with a commitment to inclusivity and to promoting greater diversity in leadership roles.

FAQs

  • According to the Stanford Graduate Admissions website, there are exemptions for submitting a TOEFL score if you meet one of the following criteria: You (will) have a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited college or university in the United States (excluding territories and possessions). You (will) have an equivalent degree from an English-language university in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, or the United Kingdom. The online application will not require you to submit a TOEFL score if you meet one of the criteria listed above for an exemption. U.S. citizenship does not automatically exempt you from taking the TOEFL if your first language is not English. You can find more information about the TOEFL here: https://gradadmissions.stanford.edu/apply/test-scores

  • Yes, undocumented student may apply. Stanford is committed to a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, faculty, staff and scholars, and it provides services and support to them without regard to their immigration status, religion, nationality, ethnicity or other characteristics. That commitment includes support for undocumented students. Please see the Undocumented at Stanford website for additional information.

  • MCiM is open to individuals from a variety of technical backgrounds. We aim to have a student body that bring a diverse set of perspective and experiences to the cohort. To be eligible to apply for MCiM, applicants must meet one of the following conditions: Applicants must hold, or expect to hold before enrollment at Stanford, a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association. Applicants from institutions outside the U.S. must hold the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university of recognized standing. See minimum level of study required of International applicants. Stanford University also requires a minimum proficiency in English. Evidence of adequate English proficiency must be submitted before enrollment is approved by Graduate Admissions. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores are required of all applicants whose first language is not English. Learn more about TOEFL as a required exam, exemptions and waivers here.

  • MCiM is a new program at Stanford University, and currently does not have department-based scholarships or waivers that can be offered at this time. Sources of funding for graduate education range from government agencies, employers and foundations to academic departments and schools. Please visit the "Tuition & Financial Aid" page to learn more about financial options that are offered at Stanford.
