Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the College of Engineering, applicants must have a strong academic record in mathematics, science, and English. The minimum high school GPA is 3.0. Applicants must also submit SAT or ACT scores. The average SAT score for admitted students is 1300, and the average ACT score is 29. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors. In addition, applicants must write an essay about their reasons for wanting to study engineering. The College of Engineering also offers a pre-engineering program for students who are not sure if they want to major in engineering. This program allows students to take introductory engineering courses and to explore the different engineering disciplines. Students who complete the pre-engineering program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are guaranteed admission to the College of Engineering.
