Application Requirements

To be admitted to the Classics major, students must have completed four years of high school Latin or Greek, or three years of each language. Students who have not completed four years of high school Latin or Greek may be admitted to the Classics major on a provisional basis, but they must complete four years of high school Latin or Greek by the end of their sophomore year. Students who are admitted to the Classics major on a provisional basis must also take the Latin Placement Exam or the Greek Placement Exam during their first year at Tufts. Students who do not pass the placement exam must take the appropriate language course at the introductory level.
