  • No, but work experience is recommended. It is also a key component to finding a full-time job after graduation from the MFE.

  • We evaluate resumes and provide advice on how to prepare for the program during our information sessions, which are held on campus, in various locations around the world, and online. • The Haas MFE Program is one of only two degree programs in financial engineering offered solely under the auspices of a business school. Most financial engineering programs are taught in mathematics, engineering, or operations research departments. As a result, MFE students learn about computational finance within the context of business and economic principles, and enjoy the additional advantages of the business school's career services, corporate contacts, and orientation towards business applications. The Berkeley MFE program is also the only financial engineering program that includes mid-program, winter internship as part of the curriculum.
