Application Requirements

To be considered for admission to the MFA Directing program, applicants must submit a portfolio of their work, a statement of purpose, and three letters of recommendation. The portfolio should include a variety of directing projects, including short films, theater productions, and music videos. The statement of purpose should explain why you want to study directing and what your goals are for the future. The letters of recommendation should come from people who know your work well and can speak to your skills and potential as a director. In addition to these requirements, applicants must also have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Applicants who do not have a bachelor's degree may be considered for admission on a provisional basis. The MFA Directing program is highly competitive, and only a small number of applicants are admitted each year. Applicants are encouraged to start their application process early.
