Application Requirements

To be admitted to the PhD program in Musicology, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in musicology or a related field with a strong background in music theory, history, and literature. Applicants must also have a strong research interest in musicology and a demonstrated ability to write and think critically. The application process includes submitting a statement of purpose, a writing sample, and three letters of recommendation. Applicants are also required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test and the Music Theory Subject Test.
