Application Requirements

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as ecology, biology, environmental science, or conservation biology. Applicants must also have a strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in ecosystem health and biosecurity. In addition to the academic requirements, applicants must also have a strong research proposal that outlines their plans for their honours research project. The proposal should be submitted to the University of Canterbury's School of Biological Sciences before the application deadline. Applicants who are not from New Zealand or Australia must also provide proof of English language proficiency. This can be done by submitting an IELTS or TOEFL score, or by taking the University of Canterbury's English Language Placement Test.
