To be eligible for admission to the American Sign Language Studies (ASLS) major, students must have a strong academic record in high school, including courses in English, math, science, and social studies. Students must also have a strong interest in American Sign Language and Deaf culture. In addition, students must submit a portfolio of their work in American Sign Language, including transcripts of their oral presentations and written assignments. Students must also submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher who has taught them American Sign Language. The ASLS major is competitive, and admission is based on the overall strength of the student's application.
