Applicants should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) in a subject relevant to the course. Applicants with a 2:2 degree may be considered, but they will need to demonstrate that they have a strong academic background in history and a good understanding of the historiography of the medieval period. Applicants from non-history backgrounds will also be considered, but they will need to demonstrate that they have a strong interest in the subject and a good understanding of the historiography of the medieval period. All applicants will be required to submit a personal statement and a portfolio of written work. The personal statement should explain why you want to study medieval history and what you hope to achieve by doing so.
