An overview of the MSc in Business Analytics programme structure, including details of the course information for semester 1 and semester 2.

This programme runs for one academic year, starting in mid-September and ending in August. At the start of the programme, you study compulsory courses, which are undertaken in semester one. These are the foundation upon which the whole MSc is built and ensure a common basis of knowledge across the different areas.

A comprehensive Welcome Week provides an introduction to the programme, the School, and the University. Designed to be both informative and fun, it enables you to get acquainted with your classmates.

Through the selection of various option courses, you can tailor your studies towards your career interests.

Finally, your MSc dissertation brings all of the year’s learning together in a piece of work unique to you.

By proactively working on your own individually tailored development plan, you can gain official recognition through the Edinburgh Award in Global Employability. You will choose 3 core skills to develop during your year. As a participant you will also be offered one-to-one coaching, peer networking opportunities; workshops on topics such as leadership, time management and advanced presentation skills as well as access to a ‘Skills Vault’.

In addition to receiving an official certificate from the University, completing the Award will be recognised on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).

The University of Edinburgh Business School is offering up to 10 scholarships covering part of the fees for Masters students commencing study in September 2024. The EU Regional Scholarship Programme is based on merit and available to applicants of Business School taught Masters domiciled in the EU.

FAQs

This programme operates a series of selection deadlines. If you apply and pay your application fee by the application deadline for a specific round, you can usually expect to receive a result by the decision deadline for that round. If you do not receive an offer in a particular round, you will either be notified that your application has been unsuccessful, or we will carry your application forward to be considered in the next round. In each cycle you will be able to submit an application until the programme closes for admissions. If the programme is not full by the final application deadline, we will continue considering applications submitted after that date. We will confirm on this application deadline page when a programme closes for new applications. If you require a visa we recommend that you submit your application by the final round 5 application deadline. Please be aware that for those hoping to secure University accommodation, you need to have both: Received and accepted an unconditional firm offer of study for the University by 31 July Applied for your University accommodation by 31 July
All successful applicants will receive a conditional offer of admission. To receive an unconditional offer of admission and to secure their place on-programme, applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £1,500, and meet any other offer conditions set out in their offer letter. The deposit is usually due within 28 days of the offer issue date. If we do not receive the deposit within 28 days, we will reject any outstanding offers without further notice. It is therefore essential that applicants have funding in place before applying.
