Applicants should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) in English or a related subject. Applicants from other disciplines will be considered if they have a strong background in English literature and a good academic record. All applicants must have a good level of English language proficiency. The University of Leeds accepts the following English language tests: IELTS (6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each component), TOEFL (90 overall with no less than 21 in each section), PTE Academic (65 overall with no less than 55 in each module), and Cambridge English: Advanced (C1 Advanced) with a score of 180.
