Application Requirements

To be eligible for the Master of Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (MAPNP) program, applicants must have a current Australian registration as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse and a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent). Applicants must also have a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a relevant area of practice. Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements may be considered for admission on a provisional basis, subject to meeting the academic requirements within the first year of the program. The MAPNP program is offered in both full-time and part-time formats. The full-time program is completed in two years, while the part-time program is completed in four years. The program consists of a core curriculum of courses in advanced nursing practice, as well as elective courses in a variety of specializations. Students also complete a clinical practicum in a relevant area of practice. Upon completion of the MAPNP program, graduates will be prepared to assume advanced practice roles in a variety of nursing settings. Graduates will also be eligible to sit for the national certification exam for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).
