Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the University of Nevada, Reno's Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must also have completed the following courses: Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, and Physics I. In addition, applicants must have a strong background in math and science. The university also recommends that applicants take the SAT or ACT and score well on the math and science sections. Applicants who are not admitted to the program may be admitted to the university's College of Engineering and Applied Science's Pre-Engineering program. The Pre-Engineering program provides students with the opportunity to take the courses they need to prepare for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program. Students in the Pre-Engineering program must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and complete all of the required courses with a grade of C or better. Students who successfully complete the Pre-Engineering program are guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program.
