Applicants must have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant subject area. Applicants from non-criminology backgrounds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must also have a strong academic record and a genuine interest in criminology. The MPhil in Criminology is a research-based degree, and applicants must be prepared to undertake a substantial research project. The programme is designed to prepare students for careers in academia, research, and policy.
