Application Requirements

Applicants should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant subject, such as geography, environmental science, development studies, economics, politics or sociology. Applicants from other disciplines may also be considered, but they will need to demonstrate a strong interest in climate change and development issues. Applicants are also expected to have a good level of English language proficiency. The University of Sussex requires all international students to have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component. In addition to academic qualifications, applicants will be assessed on their motivation and suitability for the course. They will be asked to submit a personal statement and a reference from a tutor or lecturer. The MSc Climate Change, Development and Policy is a competitive course, and only a limited number of places are available. Applicants are therefore advised to apply early.
