Application Requirements
To be admitted to the Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications (ALEC) program, students must meet the general admission requirements of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In addition, students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 in all college-level coursework attempted, including a minimum grade of C in all prerequisite courses. Students must also submit an official transcript from each college or university they have attended. Applicants who have not completed 60 semester hours of college-level coursework must also submit scores from the SAT or ACT. Applicants who have completed 60 semester hours of college-level coursework are not required to submit standardized test scores. All applicants must also submit a personal statement and two letters of recommendation. Applicants to the Agricultural Education Concentration must also submit a portfolio of their work in agricultural education. The portfolio should include a description of the applicant's experience in agricultural education, as well as samples of the applicant's work. The portfolio should be submitted electronically to the ALEC program office.
