Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Food Science – Pre-Professional Concentration, applicants must have a strong academic record in high school and meet the following requirements: * A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. * A minimum score of 21 on the ACT or 1000 on the SAT. * Applicants must also submit an official high school transcript, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. Students who are admitted to the Food Science – Pre-Professional Concentration will take a variety of courses in food science, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. They will also participate in research and internships in the food industry. Upon graduation, students will be prepared for careers in the food industry, including food processing, food safety, and nutrition.
