Application Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Physical Education and Health P-12 program, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and meet the following requirements: * A completed application for admission to Western Washington University. * Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. * A minimum score of 18 on the ACT or 950 on the SAT. * A letter of recommendation from a current or former physical education teacher. * A statement of purpose describing why you want to study physical education and health education. Students who are admitted to the program will be required to take a series of prerequisite courses, including anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, and motor learning. They will also be required to complete a practicum experience in a K-12 school setting. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health P-12. They will be prepared to work as physical education teachers in K-12 schools.
