Overview

The German Chancellor Fellowship allows university graduates with initial leadership experience from Brazil, China, India, Russia, and the USA to visit Germany on a 12-month project as part of the German Chancellor Fellowship program from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to take their career to the next level. The German Chancellor Fellowship is established under the patronage of the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and awards up to 50 German Chancellor Fellowships every year – up to ten per country. The main idea behind the fellowship is to bring prospective leaders to Germany for one year to implement a project idea that they have developed themselves. The fellowship would help participants network with international future leaders in Germany to find new answers to the global issues of their time. The German Chancellor Fellowship includes a monthly fellowship grant of 2,200 euros, 2,500 euros or 2,700 euros – depending on the applicant's training and career level, a mandatory intensive language course over approximately two or three months, depending on their prior language skills, individual support during their stay in Germany, additional financial support, e.g. for accompanying family members, for travel expenses or for an additional German language course, a two-week study tour through Germany as well as a number of events where the applicant can connect with other fellows and meet representatives of German businesses and institutions extensive alumni sponsorship, in particular, to support long-term connections with your cooperation partners in Germany over the duration of your entire professional career.
