Hosh Ibrahim African Scholarship

Each year LSE awards a number of scholarships, funded by private or corporate donations. The number, value, eligibility criteria and type of scholarships vary from year to year. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial circumstances in the first instance, and secondly take into account academic merit. LSE is delighted to announce the new Hosh Ibrahim African Scholarship. Through a generous gift to LSE, students who are ordinarily resident in Africa and receive an offer of admission from the Master of Public Administration (MPA) or the Master of Public Policy (MPP) programmes, within the School of Public Policy, will be considered for awards from the funds available. Scholarships offered for the MPA programme will be renewed for Year 2, subject to academic progression.

By the point of submitting their application for funding, applicants must have submitted an application (but not have received the outcome of that application) for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of Public Policy (MPP). The MPA in Data Science for Public Policy, and double degrees with Columbia University, University of Toronto and Sciences Po, are excluded. Applicants must be ordinarily resident in Africa. Applications must demonstrate Previous academic excellence, evidenced by grades from previous academic study and supported by references from previous professors. A commitment to responding to the public policy challenges of Africa, whether at a national, regional or continental scale.
