PhD in Media, Architecture & Design

At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology (CREATE) offers four fully funded interdisciplinary PhD stipends within the study program “Media, Architecture & Design”. Stipend no. 3: Data-driven methods for design and operation of human-centric energy-optimized indoor environments This PhD project investigates the use of digital technologies (environmental sensing, user feedback loops, computer vision, machine learning) and theories of human perception and behavioral nudging to support the design and operation of responsive, human-centric, and energy-optimized buildings. The stipend is open for appointment from 1 April 2026 or soon hereafter. The duration of the position is three years. The primary workplace for the PhD stipend will be either at Rendsburggade 14, 9000 Aalborg, or at A.C. Meyers Vænge 15, 2450 Copenhagen SV.
