At the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Health Science and Technology a PhD stipend is available within the general research programme: Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. The stipend is open for appointment from April 1, 2026 or soon hereafter./nThe PhD research will focus on the development of AI models for analysis of prehospital ECGs, with the aim to triage patients with suspected myocardial infarction and identify acute coronary occlusion from ambulance-acquired ECGs. The project will leverage a unique nationwide dataset comprising all ambulance ECGs recorded since 2001, linked to the Danish national health registers and the Danish Heart registries, enabling robust validation of occluded coronary arteries and clinical outcomes. In addition, large-scale foundation models will be developed and trained on the Aalborg Supercomputer (TAAURUS), facilitating advanced ECG representation learning and prediction of acute coronary events in the prehospital setting./nThe PhD candidate will join the CardioTech Research Group at the Department of Health Science and Technology.
