The Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University invites applications for a PhD stipend in agile and and resilient Communication and information management within the general study programme Wireless Communication, starting as per February 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter./nThe project will explore communication solutions based on a flying mesh network (FANET) for use in battlefield or disaster zones, including potential connection to a centralized C2 service via ground transceivers or satellite communications (SatCom)./nProject goals include investigation of physical air interface solutions (range, data-rates, latency, cost, power consumption, jamming resistance), routing protocols (overhead, responsiveness to mesh topology changes), overall architecture for information storage and capture (network load, resiliency, security), and interconnection between drone-based FANET mesh networks and SatCom (number of Satcom transceivers for resilience)./nLocation: Department of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark.
