Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a passionate candidate to undertake a full-time PhD research in computing or mathematical sciences, and provide assistance to academic staff as a part-time Graduate Teaching Assistant./nThe post holder will be registered as a full-time research (PhD) student within the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences for the period of employment with registration fees waived./nAs a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will pursue research study towards a PhD thesis; provide assistance to staff involved in teaching - supporting classes, marking and leading seminar discussions online; and undertake administration to ensure the effective running of programmes./nResearch is organised around three main themes: AI and Data Science, Discrete Mathematics and Algorithms and Logical Methods. A non-exclusive list of topics and supervisors is included in the advert./nLocation: London. Salary: £19,490 rising to £22,123 per year (0.5 FTE) (pro-rated £38,981 rising to £44,247 1 FTE Grade 6)./nContract: Four year fixed-term contract, starting 1 July. Teaching post is part time (17.5 hours a week term time) alongside completion of a PhD./nClosing date: 1 May 2026. Interview date: 25 May 2026./nThis post is open for Visa Sponsorship.
