PhD in Geomatics

Fully funded 4-year PhD position at TU Delft focused on advanced geodetic monitoring of surface deformation in regions affected by underground gas storage (UGS) and subsurface energy operations, embedded in a long-term research initiative with industrial and governmental stakeholders in the Grijpskerk, Norg, and Schoonebeek regions. The project aims to develop and operate a tailored, near-real-time geodetic monitoring approach providing reliable, transparent, and interpretable 3D surface displacement estimates by integrating satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) with GNSS and airborne laser scanning. The position includes supervision by a multidisciplinary team, access to InSAR processing infrastructure and datasets, and enrollment in the TU Delft Graduate School. Location: Delft, Netherlands.
