Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models evaluation using closed-loop simulation for autonomous driving, requiring novel view synthesis techniques and integration of language as a modality for evaluation, reasoning and interpretability./nThis fully funded, four-year PhD position takes place at TU Delft (Delft University of Technology) in Delft, The Netherlands, embedded in an international academic–industrial collaboration with Qualcomm which funds the project./nThe research targets end-to-end autonomous driving and neural view synthesis. The PhD will be supervised by Dr. Holger Caesar and offers access to extensive compute resources at TU Delft, ranging from local GPU servers to large-scale HPC infrastructure. Work is expected to lead to publications at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS or ICRA.
