- Yes, the PhD can be pursued part-time over 72 months (six years)
- Yes, students are encouraged to attend writing seminars that bring together pre- and post-fieldwork students to discuss fieldwork, draft chapters, and recent publications relevant to their work.
- Within the first few months, students agree on a work plan and identify training needs with supervisors. All students must produce a 7,000-word progression report at the end of the first year, followed by a progression viva with internal examiners. Students are expected to complete their research and submit their thesis by the end of the third year.
- A Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related discipline. Two satisfactory academic references. Evidence of English language proficiency (Band C). A viable research project supported by two supervisors within the department.
- Students can choose either a Sociocultural or Biological route. Both routes last three years (full-time) and are examined by thesis
