- Students apply by selecting up to three faculty mentors from their primary concentration area who are considering applications. Faculty work closely with students in a mentorship model, and students can change mentors if their goals evolve
- First year includes core psychopathology, research methods, statistics, assessment, intervention, practicum, and professional development seminars. Subsequent years include continued practicum, research seminars, electives, and qualifying exams to advance to candidacy.
- The Clinical Science concentration focuses on the assessment, etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of psychopathology. It includes coursework, research, internal practicum, and external clinical placements. The average time to complete the degree is about six years
- The program offers four concentrations: Behavioral and Systems Neuroscience Clinical Science (APA and PCSAS accredited) Cognitive and Computational Sciences Developmental Science Students affiliate with at least one concentration and often two.
- No, Emory’s Psychology Graduate Program does not offer a terminal master’s degree. Students are admitted directly to the PhD program and may earn a master’s degree en route to the doctorate
