Position part of the project "Isotope-enabled flux partitioning of evapotranspiration in five Swiss forest and grassland ecosystems (IsoFlux)", hosted by the Grassland Sciences and WaldLab Ecohydrology groups at ETH Zurich./nIsoFlux investigates ecosystem water and energy fluxes and ecosystem resilience against climate extremes using continuous, high-frequency water vapor isotope measurements (δ²H, δ¹⁸O) combined with eddy-covariance ET fluxes to develop methods to partition ET into evaporation (E) and transpiration (T)./nWork across five Swiss FluxNet sites: deploy a mobile in-situ isotope observation system, quantify water sources using isotopes in precipitation, litter, and soil, and compare isotope- and flux-based ET partitioning using machine learning approaches.
