- The PhD is a three to four-year full-time research degree (or part-time equivalent). It involves independent research under supervision leading to the submission of a thesis that makes a significant contribution to public health or tropical medicine knowledge. Students may also complete training modules in research ethics, methodology, and data analysis during the early stages of candidature.
