The Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge, Karolinska Institutet, seeks a PhD student to use pluripotent stem cells for studying human hematopoiesis and modeling disease. The project focuses on defining molecular regulators of hematopoietic differentiation and stem cell function and dysfunction using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), with applications toward identification of drug targets for myeloid cancers. The group is located in the Neo research building and offers facilities for cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, sequencing, and microscopy. The doctoral student will gain expertise in hematology and stem cell biology and apply methods such as flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering.
