Overview

The Meletis Laboratory, at the Department of Neuroscience, announces a doctoral position to investigate the function of neuron subtypes during motivated behaviors and decision-making, including circuit dysfunction in mouse models of stress and affective states./nThe research will focus on the functional investigation of neuron subtypes and brain circuits during motivated behaviors using a range of advanced methods to genetically label, record, and manipulate molecularly defined neuron subtypes./nThe project will examine the in vivo role of molecularly defined neuron subtypes in the basal ganglia./nIt will involve the use and development of genetically modified mice to target neuron subtypes with in vivo optogenetics and behavioral paradigms, in order to define the contribution of specific neural circuits to motivated and aversive behaviors./nKarolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. You will be employed on a doctoral studentship which means that you receive a contractual salary.
