FAQs

  • Applicants must submit a detailed research proposal, curriculum vitae, official academic transcripts and diplomas, a copy of their Master’s thesis, letters of recommendation, and a motivation letter outlining their academic interests and reasons for pursuing the PhD.
  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree of at least 120 ECTS in a relevant field such as communication, leadership, management, or social sciences. The Master’s thesis must be at least 30 ECTS in size, and the applicant should have achieved good academic results, typically equivalent to a grade of B or better. English language proficiency is also required, as the program is taught and examined in English.
  • Graduates will develop advanced knowledge of theories and research methods within communication and leadership. They will be able to design and conduct independent research, critically evaluate scholarly work, and communicate findings effectively to both academic and non-academic audiences. The program also emphasizes ethical awareness and the ability to handle complex research issues.
  • The PhD is a full-time program lasting three years, or four years if combined with 25% teaching duties. It comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits, with 30 ECTS dedicated to coursework and 150 ECTS to the doctoral dissertation. The coursework includes both core and elective subjects that cover contemporary research in communication and leadership.
  • This PhD is interdisciplinary, exploring how communication and leadership help address organizational, societal, and global challenges. It studies both public and private organizations—and how leadership and communication interact within business, society, and government.
