PhD in Private Property Law

The Institute for Contract Law under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bernard Tilleman and Prof. Dr. Alain-Laurent Verbeke forms part of the Private Law Research Unit and provides education and research, both in the field of Special Contracts such as purchase, lease, assumption, mandate, etc. and in the field of negotiation and mediation./nThe Institute works closely with the Centre for Legal Methodology and with KULAK and thus supervises research in the broad field of private property law. In collaboration with LINC (Criminology) and the Leuven Center for Collaborative Management (LCM) at the Faculty of Psychology, the Institute also provides education and research in the areas of negotiation and mediation./nPhD research in the field of Contract Law under supervision; conduct scientific research (own and Institute projects); provide limited teaching support (practical exercises, seminars, supervising papers and master's theses). Position based at KU Leuven, Leuven. Contract: full-time for 1 year starting September 1, 2026, renewable to a maximum of 4 years.
