The Department of Computer Science offers PhD research across core theoretical foundations and applied, interdisciplinary areas, shaping not just modern computing but society as a whole./nThemes:/n- Cyber, Networks and Systems:  understanding and building networked systems, with research spanning security, privacy, trust, and defence-related applications/n- Theoretical Computer Science: developing the mathematical ideas that underpin algorithms, computation, and the foundations of computer science/n- AI, Robotics and Human-centred Intelligent Systems: research into intelligent and autonomous systems, combining AI, robotics, computer vision, and human-centred design/n- AI for Vision, Language and Reasoning: exploring how machines can see, interpret, and reason about the world using vision, language, and multimodal data/n/nEnvironment and Facilities:/n- A mix of fundamental and applied research, often interdisciplinary/n- Projects linked to real-world problems as well as core theory/n- Access to DigiLabs and 3D printing and prototyping facilities
