PhD in Molecular Biology

The doctoral student will study how the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus bind to human proteins and modify their functions. The tasks include using methods in molecular biology, bioinformatics, quantitative and structural proteomics, and structural biology (cryo-electron microscopy) to determine the interactions between various intact bacteria, bacterial virulence factors, and human proteins. The doctoral student is also expected to collaborate with partners within the StraDiVarious consortium and summarize scientific manuscripts based on the data generated during the project.
