Doctoral researcher position at LUT University's Laboratory of Nuclear Engineering in Lappeenranta, Finland focused on nuclear thermal hydraulics system modelling and advancing understanding of counter-current flow limitations (CCFL). The role involves analytical, experimental, and numerical modelling including well-instrumented separate-effects tests at LUT and detailed CFD modelling, implementing CCFL models into thermal-hydraulic system codes, verification and validation using previous system test data, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborating with international research groups. The position aims to complete a doctoral degree within four years. Work start preferably February–March 2026, includes a six-month trial period, contract initially for one year and may be extended for three additional years. The position requires regular on-site presence in Lappeenranta. Annual working hours 1,612 and starting salary approximately EUR 2,780 per month.
