About the Project. 90% of UK homes have a washing machine, whilst 50% have a dishwasher. Up to 60% of the energy consumption of these household appliances is used to heat water - therefore, the carbon footprint of household cleaning tasks is dramatically reduced when washing temperatures are lowered.
