You must have a master's degree in architecture or a related field of expertise. It involves a five-year course of study, during which 120 credits have been achieved at master's level. Master's students can apply, but the master's degree must be obtained and documented before taking up the position (no later than 01.02.2026).
You must have an academically relevant background in architecture, preferably related to the consequences for migration and social inclusion.
You must have a strong academic background from previous studies and have an average grade from the master's degree program that is equal to B or better calculated based on NTNU's grading scale. If you do not have letter grades from previous studies, you must have a corresponding academic basis. If you have a weaker character background, you may be considered if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.
You must meet the requirements for admission to the faculty's doctoral program.
You must have good oral and written presentation skills in English.
You must have good knowledge of the Norwegian/Scandinavian society and the welfare system.

The Department of Architecture and Planning has a vacancy for a PhD Fellow: Socially Inclusive Neighbourhoods – Architectural Dimensions. This position explores the relationship between policy, neighborhood design and housing provision.
