  • Students can specialize in interdisciplinary tracks such as ecology, biogeochemistry, social science, quantitative analysis, water resources, and environmental education. Each student develops depth in a chosen area in consultation with their advisor.

  • The program is highly interdisciplinary, integrating life, physical, and social sciences. Students complete core courses, develop expertise in a concentration, and conduct original research culminating in a dissertation.
  • Graduates are prepared for roles in academia, government, research institutes, consulting, and industry, with skills to analyze and manage complex environmental systems and predict environmental change.
