PhD in Next-Generation Sequencing (Rnaseq And Cut&Run)

Faculty of Health, Science and Technology /n3 Year, full-time PhD studentship at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford. /nProject focuses on unravelling context-specific hormonal control of gene expression in Drosophila, with emphasis on nuclear receptor isoforms and co-factors, development of the central nervous system and fly genitalia. /nMethods include advanced fly genetics, high-resolution confocal imaging of fixed and live tissues, next-generation sequencing (RNAseq and CUT&RUN), bioinformatic analysis, tissue-specific removal of nuclear receptor isoforms, and AI-based video annotation for behaviour. /nSupervisors: Dr Daniela Santos Nunes (Director of Studies), Dr Sebastian Kittelmann, and Darren Williams (King’s College London). /nStart date: September 2026. /nInterviews: Date tbc (online).
